To begin why don't you check out the resources available on the VLC Grade 12 English guide under writing. I have added the link for you.
As to specific style, font, and format... you may want to ask your teacher if they have a preference. A plain font such as Arial, Times New Roman, or Calibri are usually safe bets. Avoid fancy, script fonts that are difficult to read.
