Most Canadians eat a 'Western' diet - meat, potatoes, vegetables, bread, milk etc. Chicken is very popular, and so is beef.  Eating healthy is very important and Canada has developed to Food Guide to help people choose the foods they should eat, and how much they should have.  The colour food guide can be found here:

But, every household is different, and most grocery stores will have at least some of the foods that you are familiar with.  In larger cities, there are also specialty food stores where you can probably find some treats to remind you of home!
