Hello there,

Thank you for checking in with us for more information. Here are some places to start your research:

The VLC Games & Databases tab, has many great database resources. I recommend you try these databases:

Global Issues in Context, The Diversity Studies Collection, from Gale, Canada in Context, Religion & Philosophy Collection from Gale  They are all listed alphabetically in the A to Z list.

Under the VLC Student Life tab, in the Teacher's section of the area designed to support  our Syrian Newcomers, you can find links to great documents, from the National Council of Canadian Muslims (NCCM) (Also another great resource!)

You might find this TED Talk interesting and thought provoking:

TED Talk: What do you think when you look at me?  It deals with the conceptualization of Islamophobia as s tool of public manipulation. Very timely in today's political climate!

A college in the United States, Simmons College, has put together an extensive collections of resources regarding Anti-Oppression. There is a large section devoted to Islamophobia. Check it out:

Simmons College

I encourage you to pay a visit to your school's LCI (Learning Commons staff person), if you need help navigating the databases. You can always check back here too, we are all happy to help you!

All the best in your project!

Marg Mannseichner - LCI
