An excellent resource for information about the sun is the PowerKnowledge - Earth & Space Science database available through the Virtual Learning Commons Games and Databases. You will need to get the password from your Learning Commons Informationist. Once you have logged in select Space, The Sun, and then Exploring the Sun. As you read through the sections you will find your answer.
